All Access Pass

Make sure you have administrative access to your tools.

It may sound like a no-brainer, but another situation we’ve run into recently is that our clients don’t have administrative access to their own web properties – be it Google Analytics, a social media account, Google Places/Business listing, or their own website.

Sure, there are times when having administrative rights isn’t necessary, but it sure does make it difficult when you need them and can’t get them!

Real life example: a prospective client asked us for help recently, but didn’t have access to anything to make changes, and the company that had set things up had gone out of business.

Not only did this create a challenge for us, but it caused a headache for the client by slowing their campaign down.

Before you do anything else today, create a list of your web properties (websites, blogs, social media, listings) and the associated login information. Double check to make sure you are listed as an administrator. And while you’re at it, make sure nobody has access that shouldn’t!
