Start 2015 on the Right Foot

In the past few months we’ve found that a significant number of clients either don’t look at their website traffic data, or know how to access it. Even worse – many don’t have it set up at all. We’re challenging our clients to make analytics a priority in 2015. It’s easy to get started, and the data will provide valuable insight to how your customers find you and what they’re doing once they get to your website.

Assuming you’ve got a tool like Google Analytics set up, and you know how to access it (google.com/analytics), start with the dashboard. The default view will show data from the previous 30 days, and offers a good snapshot of your traffic.

Remember – you can’t harm anything by clicking around in Analytics. Go through the navigation bar on the left side and click on each. The data is intuitive, but out of context may not hold much weight. Think about the information you want to know or understand better. Write down your questions.

One of the strengths of the Google properties is their support database. If you have a question, just Google it!
